Right of withdrawal: 14-day cooling-off period

If you purchase a product or service online, by telephone or from a seller at home (in legal terms, this is a “distance contract” or an “off-premises contract”), you have the right to withdraw. This means that you can cancel the contract within 14 days without giving any reason (the so-called “cooling-off period”). For products, this is 14 days from the date of delivery, and for services, 14 days from the date on which the contract was agreed. If the cooling-off period expires on a non-working day, the period is extended until the next working day.
